Seminar: BIM For Small Practices (Part 3)
For our third seminar of “Why is BIM Good for Small Practices?” we are expanding to a new venue! Hosting not one but two speakers from Arney Fender Katsalidis to explain how their design firm works globally with BIM.
About the Seminar
Arney Fender Katsalidis is a small firm with successful BIM workflows implemented for large and prestigious residential and workplace global projects, while collaborating with other architects/disciplines/designers/consultants on different time zones. The seminar will showcase the way workflows are organised in the practice and how the right tools and staffing are selected for the job.
This talk will focus on how BIM workflow optimisation has allowed Arney Fender Katsalidis to work on a significant number of schemes internationally, as well as in England and Scotland. The speakers will discuss current methodology in the office regarding BIM, staffing and the workflow of key projects, and how they have been working towards increasing BIM capability in a young practice.
A precedent study will demonstrate successful collaboration of models using standardised templates across continents and a workflow system via FTP that allowed a relatively small practice to design and manage construction of an office tower abroad.
Arney Fender Katsalidis is currently designing an 80 storey residential tower in New York City, recently won a design competition for a 35 storey residential tower in South London and BIM tools are enabling the creation of over 3,000 apartments across Central London.
