Business Development for Architecture + Design Consultancy Firm (Bristol)

A firm of designers, planners, engineers, consultants and technical specialists offering a broad range of professional services are seeking a Business Development person to join their Bristol team. The role is a business development position with a focus on bid writing, editing and supporting project management of bids. The primary focus is to support the winning of specific opportunities.

Overview of Role:

  • Write, edit and review material for bids, prequalification questionnaires, expressions of interest and other tendering opportunities, working closely with the team
  • Play a central role in project managing the bid process, bid programmes and deliverables, credible answer plans and effective reviews
  • Work closely with visual communications colleagues to develop visually-compelling bid documents
  • Monitor and share information from opportunity tracking portals to maintain a continual flow of information about new opportunities to the business
  • Write, assess, edit and project manage award submissions, working closely with project teams to shape winning submissions
  • Gather, compose, shape and edit information and images in order to coordinate the creation of new client presentations, working closely with marketing and visual communications colleagues
  • Gather information and undertake research to inform client relationship care plans and activities, and feeding into the development and maintaining of client management plans
  • Author, edit and upload announcements via communication channels
  • Work with other business development and marketing staff across the West to input on BD and marketing projects as and when required
  • Respond to queries raised by colleagues via discussion forum

Essential Skills:

  • Experience of working within a bid team for a similar environment
  • Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks to specific deadlines
  • Fully Microsoft Office competent
  • Experience working within Adobe InDesign
  • Ability to work as a collaborative and effective member of a geographically-disparate team
