A company who create architecturally inspired furniture, upholstery and lighting that is hand made by British craftsmen are seeking a Commercial New Business Development Representative to join their talented team. The company works with top international decorators, architects, hotels, restaurants and high profile retail customers and currently have locations in London, San Francisco and New York.

Key responsibilities –

  • Use agreed sales budgets to create monthly and six monthly sales plans broken down by client and geographic territory
  • Initiate meetings and events (showroom lunches, drinks, dinners off site) with your clients to build relationships
  • A focus on cold calling to schedule three to five meetings a week, both in and out of the Showroom with prospective clients
  • Use networking opportunities to identify new prospects and continuously grow your clientele
  • Liaise with Production and Design to convert client enquiries into sales
  • Ensure that Finance has accurate information and paperwork on each secured sale which include, but are not limited to VAT information, commission statements and deposit/balance payments
  • Ensure that all contact records are kept updated on the database and that stock movement is recorded
  • Use client feedback and knowledge to direct new product development as required
  • Provide manager with a monthly KPI report to include new clients acquired as well as web enquiries
  • Assist on shop floor and at events as required (including one paid Saturday a month)
  • Attend the sales training programme and be able to present using the sales process
  • Understand and adhere to internal policies including, but not limited to the approval process, travel policy and staff handbook
  • French or German or other European languages an advantage

Key skills –

  • Proven success with opening new business opportunities and achieving sales goals
  • Luxury furniture sales experience or experience in the commercial interior design market
  • An entrepreneurial mind-set with superb administrative and time management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Self-motivator
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
