An independent London-based interior design agency, who have been creating environments for clients across diverse sectors including food and beverage and retail, are looking for an experienced F&B Interior Designer to join their established company.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work on projects from major high street brans and independent retailers, through to national institutions in both the UK and abroad.

Key day-to-day tasks of the F&B Interior Designer include:

  • You will be involved in the planning, design and detailing of interior spaces, including: structural alterations; layout of space; fixtures, fittings and finishes; lighting and services
  • Fully understand (and where appropriate challenge) and take responsibility for the client’s brief
  • Maximise spatial opportunities and plan layouts interpreting client briefs and bringing sector knowledge
  • Visualise concepts via hand drawn or software based sketches
  • Clearly articulate and sell-in ideas, especially through honed presentation skills
  • Mark-up CAD drawings for juniors/interns to assist
  • Instruct junior members of team to compile project requirements
  • Advise on interior construction methods – joinery, partitions, metalwork, etc.
  • Research and propose materials which are fit for purpose and project (durability, price, safety)
  • Conduct measured site surveys
  • Familiarity with building regulations and planning issues and ability to address relevant matters
  • Ability to prepare and submit statutory applications i.e planning, advertising, building control
  • Ability to compile CDM Designer Risk Assessment
  • Deal with client and contractor queries, by telephone and email
  • Be responsible for the quality control of presentations
  • Contribute to/lead internal design reviews of current trends, opportunities and insights
  • Contribute to the image and impression of the company – the physical space, credentials, on-line
  • Develop/recommend staff events/outings/stimulus
  • Liaise effectively with team re: workload planning and priorities
  • Be responsible for delivering against the timelines and fee constraints of a project
  • Be responsible for the recruitment and development of team members, where appropriate identifying strengths/weaknesses/training requirements
  • Work with other Board members to maximise existing client development opportunities
  • Work independently and with other Board members to maximise new business development opportunities.
  • Contribute and/or lead new business, PR and marketing initiatives
  • Control of project programming, deliverables, and creative standards control
  • Operating as project lead to the other members of the design team


Key attributes of the F&B Interior Designer include:

  • A strong background in food and beverage interior design
  • Proficient in Vectorworks
  • Proficient in Sketch Up (/willingness to learn) or hand drawing
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Confident client-facing skills
  • Good leadership skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
