A well know Manufacturer of handmade British furniture, upholstery and lighting are looking for an experienced Production Manager to join their friendly team.

With distribution across the world, their products are made and delivered with outmost care and attention to detail. The Production Manager is to ensure that all Trade, Retail, EU and Rest of World orders are delivered on time and on budget and to the required specification, enabling their production to improve and increase capacity through more efficient production processes. They are seeking a champion and promoter of British craftsmanship with keen attention to the highest qualities of customer service.

THE PRODUCTION MANAGER ROLE

  • Proactively manage production and fulfilment of all orders and production project work so that they are delivered on time, to the required specification and to achieve gross margin requirements (or in accordance to KPIs)
  • Build strong relationships with the US Sales Managers, to promote craftsmanship and educate on production techniques
  • Monitor and understand the workload of the workshops in order to achieve the above
  • Negotiate with workshops as required to meet or exceed gross margin requirements
  • Ensure that Bespoke orders are photographed and catalogued
  • Work with the Draftsman to provide bespoke drawings as required by the sales team and workshops
  • Receive Classic and Bespoke briefs, provide cost price and see any resulting orders through to fulfilment. Find creative and cost effective production solutions to bespoke projects or craftsmanship.
  • Log any ongoing quality or production issues and find solutions with workshops or in collaboration with the Head of Production.
  • Report production issues and schedules in a timely and accurate manner to the Head of Production and the relevant account manager
  • Visits to their London distribution centre, to help with the QC process as required
  • Regular workshop visits for QCing and to build relationships
  • Use scheduled Production Carriage runs to minimise production carriage costs
  • Responsibility for receiving sample orders from the sales team and ensuring that orders are received correctly and allocated to the correct department
  • Timely sign off of supplier invoices
  • Ensure that agreed Production processes are followed (for example but not restricted to: Quick Ship component stock, flow chart processes, production carriage schedules)
  • Raise and take to fulfilment Stock or Prototype orders as required
  • Ensure that workshop files are kept current and any prices amendments that will affect gross margins and passed on to the Management Accountant
  • Help to keep the production office tidy with control samples and other materials neatly stored and labelled
  • Provide holiday cover for other members of the Production team as required
  • Assisting on production project work as required
  • Manage the production schedule of our rattan workshop

 

ABOUT THE PRODUCTION MANAGER

  • A degree or qualification in interior design or furniture design is an advantage
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Enthusiastic and self-motivated
  • Team player
  • CAD
  • Knowledge of In Design
  • Knowledge of Photoshop
  • Immaculate attention to detail
  • Able to communicate clearly and warmly with our workshops
  • Driving license
  • Knowledge of furniture and/or lighting manufacture
